Provenance and verification note for The Golden Age, (vaccination article)

Confidence note. NOT opened. The archive.org collection '1930-1934TheGoldenAgeMagazine' does not contain the 4 Feb 1931 issue (no hits for 'everlasting covenant'). Wording matches jwfacts.com, ajwrb.org and Wikipedia 'Vaccination and religion'; these may not be independent of one another.

Notes. The 1952 QFR's explicit discussion of the Noachian covenant is consistent with such an argument having been published. Seek a scan before publishing the sentence as a verbatim quotation.

The Watchtower, “Questions From Readers (Is vaccination a violation of God's law forbidding the taking of blood into the system?)”

15 December 1952 · p.764 · Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society

“The matter of vaccination is one for the individual that has to face it to decide for himself. … it does not appear to us to be in violation of the everlasting covenant made with Noah, as set down in Genesis 9:4, nor contrary to God's related commandment at Leviticus 17:10-14. Most certainly it cannot reasonably or Scripturally be argued and proved that, by being vaccinated, the inoculated person is either eating or drinking blood”

The answer reverses the earlier published objection, adding that the Society 'cannot afford to be drawn into the affair legally or take the responsibility'.
