The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures, “John 14:14 (word-for-word English under the Greek)”

1985 · John 14:14 · Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania

“14 ἐάν if ever τι anything αἰτήσητέ YOU should ask με me ἐν in τῷ the ὀνόματί name μου of me τοῦτο this ποιήσω. I shall do.”

The Greek text printed in the Society's own interlinear — the Westcott and Hort text — contains με, 'me', and the Society's own word-for-word line renders it. The New World Translation column beside it does not.

Provenance and verification note for The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures, John 14:14 (word-for-word English under the Greek)

Confidence note. Interlinear text for John 14 opened on wol.jw.org on 19 September 2026 and the Greek and gloss read directly.

Notes. This is one of the clearest cases where the Society's own base text and its own literal line contain a word the translation does not render.
